I am having a problem understanding the wording on two particular types of questions regarding follow-up. One question relates to the nurse and other relates to the patient.
1) The nurse has taught a client who is scheduled for a colonoscopy.Which of the following statements by the client would require follow up?
a. “I will not be able to eat or drink anything for 24 hours before the procedure.”
b. “I may experience abdominal cramping after the procedure.”
c. “I will be sedated during the procedure.”
d. “I will be placed in the knee-chest position for the procedure.”
Is this question looking for a negative or positive response?
Since the question asked Client would require follow up, it means it looking for a negative (whats wrong) response from the client.
Follow-up means Negative answer that is not related to Colonoscopy.
