have faith. wait for the result. When I took NCLEX-RN, the computer went blank after 75th question. I did feel the same. I felt like I'm pretty sure I failed. But I passed!
Don't burden yourself in thinking you failed. wait for the result. you can try to do the Pearsonvue Trick which can tell you if you failed or passed 2 hours after taking the test.
Good Luck and God Bless on your exam! You'll pass!
do the pearson vue trick. It will tell you if you pass or failed just few hours after your exam.
Good Luck to both of you! You will pass! :-)
aashnu, I think when it comes to NCLEX, girls and boys feels the same nervousness. It is just that often time we boys can hide what we feels, but trust me, we are nervous too! But don't give in to that nervousness and fear! You prepared and did your best on this exam and prayed, YOU WILL PASS!!!
During my NCLEX test, Before I enter the room, I said a prayer and told myself that I WILL PASS! I did deep breathing to relax and took the test. If during the test I get stressed, I pause for a while, close my eyes and deep breath and tell my self I CAN DO THIS! I WILL PASS!.. when the computer prompted that I can take my break, I did took my break, went to the comfort room and talk to myself infront of the mirror. I said to my reflection on the mirror, "Get back there and answer the questions! You will Pass! You can make this!"
If at times, you get nervous, close your eyes and deep breath then tell yourself, "I CAN DO THIS! I WILL PASS!".
Sorry for the late response.. Been very busy lately.
Andrea, Nan and specially Susa are right.
The first thing do is to assess your self, your study habit, and the areas that you need improvement using the "Candidate Performace Report".
Study more on your weak areas stated from the "Candidate Performance Report" and enhance the areas that your are good at.
Failing 3 times doesn't mean it's over.. Take it on your advantage, it gives you more time to prepare yourself not only for the NCLEX test but also on your professional life as a nurse. While you are doing your practice tests I bet there were many times you say to yourself "I did not know that...". With the rationales an further reading increases your knowledge of the vast world of nursing.
Gilsee, and same with everybody else on this site, as much as I want to be here and help others, I can't. I may not be able to respond to all your messages but the NCSBN staff: Andrea and Susan are always here to answer any questions you have. I will do my best to respond and help you in any way I can.
Study harder. Concentrate on your review. Do many practice question and understand how it they came-up with the answer. Don't forget to PRAY and then Pray and then PRAY more.
You can do this!
You will Pass!
your welcome sunshine and aashnu!
You will pass!
Good Luck and God Bless! :-)
What I did on my last ten days before my test:answer practice questions and review the normal values. And PRAY. PRAY. PRAY.
Have faith. as long as you review the rationales of your practice tests and read more/look up on the topics that you got wrong on your practice test, you will be fine. Have faith on yourself. YOU WILL PASS!
I myself had not been doing good during my practice questions. My scores would range from 55% to 67%. my last practice question I got the score of 65%. What I do, I read the rationale, if after reading the rationale i still don't get or understand the topic, I will read more about it on my book or search the Internet for more info.
I passed NCLEX with only 75 questions.
You will pass too!
Have faith on yourself and God!
Bellow is for everybody:
during my review, I wrote on a BIG paper my full name and put ",RN" after it. then wrote bellow it "Yes I can and I will become a nurse!". i posted it in front of me, it gave me strength.
To focus on my review, I removed the TV from my room, before I start my review i will turn my phone off/put it on silent, I had my bestfriend change my login info to social networking sites so that I will not be able to access. If i get tired, I relax for awhile or eat snack then go back to review.
there are those times that I am just drained and tired of reading and is tempted to watch TV shows or anything, kinda crazy but I will speak to my self "Do you want to become a Nurse?! If yes, then get you @#$@#$ up and continue studying!" :-)
I also made a bookmark with pictures of my inspirations (family, relatives, and friends) with some of their message and the things that I may have/do after I pass and work as a RN.
Again, YOU CAN DO THIS! YOU WILL PASS!
(What worked for me may or may not be effective to others. Every test taker is unique.)
Thanks Rebecca (azlantinlady). Yes, i did enroll in NCSBN Online Review Class.
Pros:
Cons:
Susan and Andrea, the NCSBN staff can give more information regarding the NCSBN Online Review Page.
It is just confusing that one instructor says a thing and then other team of instructors says another thing. :-)
Personally, in real world (not in NCLEX world), i will NEVER delegate the task of tube feeding to an unlicensed personnel.
Thank you Susan for the information.
@aashnu: thanks. I sent you a private message here. check you inbox.
I wish you good luck and God bless!
@candy: star is right. do you have sick days? i think it would be better to file a leave or vacation or use your sick days so that you will have more time and energy to prepare for the exam.
@shock, Yes it is possible to pass with 5 weeks of serious studying. :-)
Good Luck and God Bless You!
"Everything will be according to HIS will and plan..."
@Shock.. yeh.. YOU WILL PASS!!! :-) Good Luck and God Bless!
here is how i attack SATAs:
example:
A nurse is preparing to perform Mantoux skin test. Which interventions apply in relation to this test? Select All that Applies:
[ ] 1. Explain the procedure to the patient.
[ ] 2. Obtain a 3-mL syringe with a 1/2 inch needle
[ ] 3. Mark the test area to locate it for reading 48-72 hours after injection
[ ] 4. Ask the client about previous history of a positive purified protein derivative reaction.
.
.
What I do: first i figure out what it is really asking. here, it is asking for interventions applicable for mantoux test.
then restate the question to a "yes/no format": "Is this intervention applicable in performing Mantoux Skin Test?"
.
.
then ask the question in each choices:
[ ] 1. Explain the procedure to the patient. >>> "Is this intervention applicable in performing Mantoux Skin Test?" >>> YES
[ ] 2. Obtain a 3-mL syringe with a 1/2 inch needle >> "Is this intervention applicable in performing Mantoux Skin Test?">> NO
[ ] 3. Mark the test area to locate it for reading 48-72 hours after injection>>> "Is this intervention applicable in performing Mantoux Skin Test?">>> YES
[ ] 4. Ask the client about previous history of a positive purified protein derivative reaction. >>> "Is this intervention applicable in performing Mantoux Skin Test?">> YES
.
.
If in a choice I answered Yes, I will click the box. I find it easier doing the SATAs this way.
