Form new habits. Integrate new skills.

As a new graduate nurse, you need an understanding of teamwork and how it plays out in pressure-packed situations. Communication & Teamwork is the first course in the Transition to Practice series. This highly interactive course will help you initiate discussions with experienced colleagues that increase your confidence and competence.

NCSBN developed this course based on the results of the 2011-2013 Transition to Practice study. By investing an hour a week for six months (to complete the five course program) and interacting with a preceptor, you’ll strengthen your core competencies.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the relationship between patient safety, collaboration and teamwork
  • Use effective communication techniques with colleagues
  • Explain how to lead and/or work cooperatively with others
  • Discuss professional development opportunities for lifelong learning
